Pyukkleen

It’s winter here, which means I have a shit ton of hand knits to share with you. My latest creation is the Pyukkleen cowl, from Ysolda Teague’s Knitworthy. I’ve knitted so many garments from Knitworthy now that it has its own tag, and Ysolda patterns make up the bulk of my knitted projects. What can I say, I know what I like. In the Folds Wide Leg Pants

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know my excitement over In The Folds’ latest pattern release for Peppermint Sewing School: the Wide Leg Pants. Wide leg, high waist pants seem to be the latest trend in the online sewing community, and I think In The Folds’ version is the best executed pattern so far. Given my previous positive experiences with their pattern drafting, sewing their latest release was an easy decision.

I mean, really.

Pattern Fantastique Glacial Tee – Skivvy Variation

I’ll confess – I love a good skivvy. It has this gloriously daggy connotation, and reminds me of a childhood wearing out our VHS tape of The Wiggles’ Big Red Car.

The Wiggles in their Big Red Car.
I found a series of screencaps of the whole video because OF COURSE I DID.

Two more Hemlock Tees

Warning: contains GIFs

I went on a knit-sewing session a while back, resulting in my ponte skirt and a couple of long-sleeve tees. I actually meant to blog them together, but the weather has been so offensively hot this Autumn that I’ve had to wait until it cooled down enough that I could wear long sleeves without swooning like a 20s film star.

Or Alba. I’m kinda obsessed with Jane the Virgin right now.

Style Arc Blaire Shirt

You know when a project looks really different in your head to the final outcome? That’s what happened with my Style Arc Blaire Shirt. I completely misinterpreted the pattern of the fabric and the cut of the shirt, and ended up with an oversized, tropical-style shirt, entirely by accident. And I love it!

Ottobre 2/2017 merino statement t-shirt

After a few successful garments, I’m back to sharing one of those creations which I love but will likely never wear. I really should have known better – I overheat easily over summer, and tend to spend my days inside in cool cotton and viscose, huddled near the air con. Yet after extolling the virtues of wool fibres and seeing Amanda’s gorgeous merino Plantain tee, I couldn’t resist making myself a merino knit t-shirt.

Sew Over It Kimono Sleeve Jackets

I’m still catching up on blogging everything I sewed and knitted over the past few months. Today I’m sharing a couple of Sew Over It Kimono Sleeve Jackets,* sewn in print rayon I bought on sale at Spotlight. These jackets have been one of the most frequently worn additions to my closet I think I’ve ever made.
