ME/CFS on Today

I’m pleased to report there has been more sympathetic coverage of ME/CFS in the Australian media. Last week,  Today screened a short segment on the illness, featuring Dr Heidi Nicholl, CEO of Emerge Australia and sufferer Jane Barclay.

A screenshot from the Today website, with segment Today's Agenda titled

For those who don’t know, Today is a breakfast show hosted by TV personalities who could be most kindly described as grating. To my relief, not only was Karl Stefanovic completely absent during the 10 minute segment, reporter Georgie Gardner was respectful and understanding of her guests. It was clear she had done her research into ME/CFS.

If you wish to watch the segment, head over to the Today site. It runs for 10:38. (You may need a VPN if outside Australia.)

  1. Glad to hear there has been some sympathetic coverage! I’m hoping this will continue, and that more sympathetic coverage of ME/CFS will help lead not only to greater awareness but increased research funding and better treatment over all. *Huge hugs*
